The odds and ends, the good-to-knows, and everything in between. If it doesn’t fit elsewhere, it probably lives here.
We have a saying here at the Kings “All four paws on the slate floor”, which means dogs in the bar area only.
There is no specific parking for the Kings and we recommend that you use the public car park that you pass on the way to us.
However if you are staying with us, we can provide a parking permit for the car park (please note a refundable deposit is required to use our permit)
Children under the age of 12 are welcome in the bar and restaurant at the start of the evening service. Being a pub with rooms we do not have the space for extra beds/cots for smaller guests upstairs.
We have wheelchair access for the pub and Eating Room…we also have an accessible toilet. All of our guest rooms are on the first floor and as such are not accessible.
We will be showing the 3 England matches at the Kings. Why not join us in supporting the lads (drink in hand of course) ⚽️🏴🍺
It’s official….last night at the National Pub and Bar Awards, the King’s Arms was voted the best pub in Cumbria! Ross and Ollie were very proud to collect the award on behalf of their fabulous kitchen and FoH teams! Well done guys! 🙌
Did you see us featured in The Times over the last couple of days? So proud of the team for all their hard work to ensure a stunning review…..!
Only metres away from the pub, Alice’s Cottage is our 1 bedroom self-contained cottage. She has a kitchen/diner, wood burning stove, superking bed, bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower. Enjoy breakfast at the Kings as standard.
Bookings are Monday to Friday or Friday to Monday.
See our website for details.
